I had my wedding trial nails done and my wedding nails done here. They were gorgeous and I had so many compliments. This is a clean establishment, friendly, talented, personable.
My best friend and maid of honor had hers done and she had outstanding nails and care!!!
Was a client last summer but I never got to reviewing this place. I was really excited to get my nails done before my engagement so I asked for really natural nails. The nail artist did such a poor job and they charged me 175$ for the acrylics. The nails are so thick, the shape looked weird and the white part is way too low. I asked the nail artist about it but was gaslit by the girls that were there so I just paid and left. I’m still embarrassed by the engagement photos of my hands.
Run, do not walk, far away from this place. This business has an incredibly sad costumer service policy. For starters, the website is not up to date, so after scheduling an appointment for an acrylic refill which I anticipated being about $60-65 with tax & tip, I called to confirm pricing over the phone and was told it would be about $70 before taxes. Apparently a refill is now $60, and the nails that I wanted were considered a “design”, so they charged an additional $10 for that. But fine, i figured the appointment was already made and I had heard great things so I followed through. I wish I could say it ends there and things turned around for the best, but sadly that’s not the case. After finishing my nails I went to settle up, and the total came to $75 before taxes. Surprised, again, I asked where this extra $5 is coming from since I had asked for the price just a few days prior over the phone. Her reply: “I don’t know who you spoke to but they shouldn’t have said that. Fees for designs vary depending on the technician. I’m sorry my hands are tied.” I am unfortunately not a confrontational person to begin with, but I was also not feeling very confident about calling them out for pricing because while the technician was doing my nails I over heard some other technicians speaking very inappropriately about how one client thought their prices were steep. The technicians I think noticed that I could hear them and decided to finish their discussion later on when the salon would be less busy. I know what I should have said in this case, but instead I just succumbed and paid. My total came to $95 for a simple acrylic refill. I have never even spent that much on a full acrylic set with several complex designs. I’m appalled. And to make matters worse, the more I look at my nails, the more I notice how poorly they were done. One of my middle finger nails is longer and wider than the other, the polish is rough, as if it may have been old polish or as if specks of dust were stuck on the brush and being painted into the nails. Like, I’m talking every single nail has some sort of speck or nick or bump on it. One nail has a puncture hole from possibly an air bubble? I’m not even sure. They’re also incredibly thick, and the acrylic starts passed my cuticle so it already looks like there’s growth. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a trick they do to get clients to come in for refills more often. So yea, overall pretty horrible experience. I beg you, do not waste your time and money on this place. But if you do decide to go here, at least watch your head. Their light fixture sits very low, I learned the hard and embarrassing way. The technician said “oh are you okay? Gosh people always do that!”. Perhaps if people are always whacking their heads on these light fixtures they might consider finding safer alternatives?? Just food for thought, but really drives my point home about how much they care about their customers!
I’m so disappointed to be writing this review, as I had such high hopes for Crazy Nails after hearing about it from friends and friends of friends. I visited Crazy Nails this past Wednesday (13th September) for gel nails and design, with 2 acrylic nails so they’d all be the same length. The girl was so lovely who did my nails, and the design turned out exactly as I’d hoped, but the quality of the gel is awful. By Friday (15th) 1 nail had completely broken off, another was bent at the nail line and was waiting to go, and a third was bent and the polish had peeled off. I was only visiting Ottawa so couldn’t go back to get my nails fixed, so I had to find a place in Vancouver to replace the 3 nails with acrylics. I spent about $95 at Crazy Nails with tip and then another $50 to get them replaced so I’m pretty irritated by this, especially as it hasn’t even been a week. Another nail broke this morning and a 5th is bending at the nail line and will undoubtedly break in the next few days. So disappointing.
Jennifer did my nails. She was very nice, patient, let me try on two colors, did not hurry me, very good at doing design, did it perfectly. Loved my experience.
Amazing experience there, everyone was so friendly and Shelby did an amazing job on my nails! Definitely recommend Shelby and this establishment to anyone looking for a fantastic nail experience :)
I've been a regular at this salon, visiting around five times with satisfactory experiences each time. However, my last visit around New Year was underwhelming. Due to a misunderstanding when booking my appointment, the service was rushed and inattentive. There was a noticeable decline in the quality of work. The bio gel on my nails was unevenly shaped, and the gelish began peeling off shortly after. While the staff tried to be helpful, the end result was not up to the standard I had come to expect from this salon. It was a letdown, particularly because of my previous positive experiences here.
Loved these bio gel extension nails for my wedding! They’ve grown out a bit now but they’re still perfect! So happy with this investment!
